Custom Web Design Agency in Sydney
No templates. No page builders. Every pixel earns its place.
- 17 years, 500+ custom websites, 2025 Web Awards finalist
- No templates: faster, more secure, uniquely yours
- In-house Sydney team, mobile-first, conversion-ready
Templates are the reason half the internet looks the same
You have seen them. The hero image with the confident founder pointing at nothing. The three-column “features” row. The stock photo of a diverse team smiling at a laptop that is clearly not turned on. The “book a demo” CTA in the exact same place on every competitor site. An entire generation of websites built on the same handful of Shopify, WordPress, and Webflow themes, sold back to small businesses as “custom design.”
The majority of “custom” agency work is template work with new colours and a different logo. It is faster for the agency. It is cheaper to produce. It is what a lot of the industry sells. And it is why every law firm, real estate agency, and physiotherapist in your suburb has a website that looks like the one next door.
We do not sell that. Every site we design starts on a blank Figma file. As part of our wider web design services, every custom web design project begins with strategy, not a template. Since 2008 we have built over 500 custom websites for Sydney businesses, with 2025 Australian Web Awards finalist work in three categories.
Why businesses choose us for custom web design

You need more than a template website. You need a custom design built around your brand, your goals, and your growth plan. Our custom web design combines strategy, creativity, and performance to deliver sites that set you apart from competitors using off-the-shelf themes.
92% client and staff retention
The designer working on your custom project in week one is the same person refining it in month twelve. A 92% retention rate across clients and staff means no handoffs, no re-briefing, and a team that understands your brand deeply. Our clients rate us 4.8 on Google from multi-year engagements.
Every design built from scratch
No Elementor, no Divi, no ThemeForest templates. Custom UX/UI that reflects your brand and guides visitors to action. Mobile-first, responsive, and built to perform across all devices. This is the core difference between custom web design and what most agencies deliver.
2025 Australian Web Awards finalist
Recognised in 3 categories by the Australian Web Industry Association for design and innovation. Proven results backed by case studies showing 2x conversions and 7-figure revenue lifts.
Sydney-based team, Norwest office
In-house creative and technical expertise. No offshore outsourcing, no agency handoffs. 100% Australian-owned and NSW Government approved supplier (ABN 87 651 496 570).
No lock-ins, you own everything
You own your site, your content, and your future roadmap. No restrictive agreements. Month-to-month from day one.
Who we help with custom web design
From Bondi to Blacktown, we have worked with small local businesses, ambitious scale-ups, and national brands across Sydney.
What makes custom web design different

Most agencies start with a template and modify it. The result looks similar to your competitors, loads slowly because of unused code, and locks you into a framework that cannot adapt as your business changes. Custom web design is the opposite: every element exists because your business needs it.
That means custom design shaped around your goals, whether that is elevating your brand, streamlining user journeys, or improving conversions. Pages are built to be responsive, fast-loading, and easy to manage. The CMS is structured so your team can update content without calling a developer every time.
Because visibility matters as much as aesthetics, we embed SEO-friendly architecture, clean code, and smart internal linking from the start. The result is a custom site that ranks, converts, and scales, not just one that looks good on launch day. Need the technical build handled too? Our WordPress, Webflow, and PHP development teams work alongside design from day one.

How we actually run a custom design engagement

Great custom web design is not rushed. Our process balances momentum with precision, ensuring you see progress early while setting up your digital foundation to scale.
Discovery, and the Figma file that does not exist yet.
We interview founders, commercial leads, and customer-facing staff. We pull traffic and conversion data from the existing site if there is one. We look at five or six competitors and decide what we will not do, because the best design decisions are usually subtractions.
We do not start Figma until we have a written strategy document you have signed off. That document covers site architecture, key template purposes, content hierarchy, and conversion paths.
Nothing gets drawn until this is signed off.
Original design, iterated in front of you.
Homepage concept first, shown at a working review meeting, not emailed as a PDF. We present two directions, argue for one, and take your pushback seriously. Revisions happen in rounds (two or three is typical).
Once the homepage is signed off, we design the next 4–6 key templates (category, service, article, contact, about). Responsive behaviour scoped at design time so nothing gets reinterpreted during build.
Every template is shown on mobile and desktop before approval.
In-house build on the platform that fits.
Custom theme coded from scratch. ACF blocks so your marketing team can publish without breaking the layout. Staging environment live by end of week 8. You see real builds, not mockups, from the middle of the engagement onward.
Integrations connected (CRM, email platform, payment, booking, whatever the build requires). Performance work as part of the build, not as a final sprint that never happens.
QA, UAT, and launch.
Testing on real devices, not just Chrome desktop. Core Web Vitals validated. Accessibility audit (WCAG 2.2 AA as baseline). 301 redirect map if it is a rebuild. Launch on a quiet Tuesday, not a Friday afternoon.
30 days of post-launch support included because something always surfaces once real traffic hits the new site. Our track record is published here, including the 2025 Australian Web Awards three-category finalist work.
Custom Web Design Pricing
Custom design pricing written down honestly. The numbers below are real starting points, not negotiation openers.
Standard custom site ($5,000 to $10,000, excl. GST): custom UX/UI, responsive build, CMS setup, Core Web Vitals optimisation, and 12 weeks post-launch support. Ecommerce or multi-location ($20,000 to $30,000, excl. GST): custom builds designed to scale with SEO, speed, and CRO foundations from day one. Ongoing support (from $1,200/month, excl. GST): monthly CRO improvements, landing page development, and priority access.
We designed for Wucraft, a respected fitout contractor whose previous site did not match the reputation they had built on site, and for CleanStamp, a new cleaning business where the website needed to do the heavy lifting from day one. Both received custom work. One was bigger in scope. That is the only difference that mattered.
The designer talking to you you is the designer leading the project. We do not run pitches where a senior designs the idea and a junior executes it. We care that the work is genuinely custom, which is why we will show you the original Figma file on request. Call us. We will be straight about whether custom is the right answer for you.
All pricing is indicative and exclusive of GST. No lock-in contracts. Month-to-month from day one.

Most custom websites launch within 8 to 12 weeks from kickoff. Weeks 1-2 cover discovery and wireframes. Weeks 3-6 focus on custom design and build. Weeks 7-10 handle refinement and QA. Weeks 11-12 include launch and monitoring.
Complex custom projects may extend to 14-16 weeks. Timelines vary based on scope, integrations, and feedback speed.
What platforms do you build custom websites on?
We work across WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and headless builds (Next.js + headless CMS), choosing the platform that best suits your goals.
WordPress suits service businesses needing flexibility. Shopify is ideal for ecommerce. Webflow works well for design-led brands. We also work with WooCommerce and custom PHP frameworks.
Can you integrate with our existing CRM or booking system?
Yes, we connect custom websites to CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho), booking systems (Calendly, Acuity), payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, eWAY), and inventory systems.
Simple integrations add 1-2 weeks. Complex multi-system integrations can add 4-6 weeks. We build error handling so you are alerted if anything breaks.
What happens after the custom site launches?
We include 12 weeks of post-launch support covering bug fixes, content updates, and minor adjustments. After that, you can self-manage, purchase support hours at $198/hour, or subscribe to monthly packages from $1,200/month.
Monthly packages include updates, performance monitoring, security patching, and priority support.
Are there long-term contracts?
No lock-in contracts. Month-to-month from day one. We require a project agreement during the 8-12 week build phase (50% upfront, 50% at launch). After launch, everything is optional with 30 days notice.
