We Manage One of Australia’s Highest-Transacting WooCommerce Stores. Here’s How.

SILK Laser Clinics is one of Australia’s most recognised beauty brands. Today, they operate over 100 clinics nationally under the WesHealth Group, offering laser hair removal, skin treatments, injectables, and body contouring across every state and territory.

When CCM first started working with SILK, the picture looked very different. A small number of clinics, a brochure-style website, and big ambitions to scale. CCM came on board to manage their paid search and build their digital marketing foundations. As the clinic count grew, so did the scope of work.

Over the following years, CCM built the eCommerce store that replaced that brochure site, enabling online purchases of prepaid treatment packages for the first time. CCM’s sister company, Paladine, built the custom integration layer that connects every online purchase to SILK’s clinic management and booking system. The ad account expanded from a handful of campaigns to over 300, covering every state and territory at the treatment level. And through a full rebrand in 2024, CCM led the digital execution, rebuilding the homepage, restructuring the purchase flow, and delivering a 27% year-over-year increase in booking revenue.

Thirteen years later, this is what a digital partnership looks like when it actually scales with the business.

The Numbers

Since CCM took over Google Ads management for SILK in 2015, the account conversion rate has grown from 4.16% to 22%. That is a fivefold improvement, built through ten years of continuous work on campaign structure, audience targeting, landing page performance, and account architecture.

2024 stands out. A 45% improvement in CVR in a single year is the largest gain in the account’s history.

On the organic side, search sessions are up 45% year-on-year and organic revenue has grown by more than 71% in the same period, reflecting the compounding effect of CCM’s ongoing technical SEO and location page work.

What We Built

silklaser.com.au is not a standard online store. It does not just take payment and confirm an order. Every purchase must automatically flow to the correct clinic, match the correct treatment type, sync with the booking system, and create a customer record, all without any manual processing. Across 100+ clinics and thousands of transactions a month, that has to work every single time.

CCM’s custom WooCommerce development handles the storefront, checkout, and product logic. Paladine, CCM’s sister company, built the middleware layer that sits between the WooCommerce store and SILK’s clinic management platform. When a customer completes a purchase online, this integration layer picks up the order, translates it into the correct format for the booking system, and fulfils it in near real-time. It is the kind of custom integration work that does not come off the shelf.

The store runs on dedicated cloud infrastructure with a Web Application Firewall (WAF) in front of it, not shared hosting. There is a full staging environment where all plugin updates and code changes are tested before they go live. Given the transaction volume and the operational dependency SILK’s clinics have on the store, downtime or a broken checkout during a promotional period is not an option.

On the campaign side, the Google Ads account is one of the most structurally complex single-brand accounts CCM manages. 300+ campaigns running across SA, WA, QLD, NSW, NT, TAS, and ACT, segmented at the treatment level across Laser Hair Removal, Skin Treatments, Body Campaigns, Cosmetic Aesthetics, Brand, and Location campaigns. A Performance Max layer runs alongside the full Search structure.

The Fix That Says Everything About How This Partnership Works

In early 2026, customers were experiencing checkout slowdowns during high-traffic periods. CCM dug into the server-side performance data and found a database query linked to tracking calls that was taking over 37 seconds to execute on every checkout attempt.

After isolating the issue, CCM implemented a targeted database index. The query execution time dropped to less than one millisecond. A 46,000x improvement, resolved in a single sprint.

The fix benefited not just SILK but also Clear Skincare and Australian Skin Clinics, as all three stores share infrastructure managed by CCM.

That is what genuine embedding in a client’s operation looks like. Not reviewing a report once a month. Finding a problem in the server logs before it shows up on a dashboard, and fixing it before the client has to ask.

The Same Team. For 13 Years.

One of the less-talked-about parts of long-term agency relationships is continuity. The team working on SILK today includes developers with years of hands-on history with the codebase, a dedicated SEO specialist across location pages and technical health, and account management that knows the business, the priorities, and the people involved.

When a payment gateway issue surfaces during a live promotional period, CCM’s team is already in the system. Diagnosing server logs, coordinating with infrastructure, and pushing fixes in real time.

Not logging a ticket. Not waiting for the next scheduled call.

This is not a ticketing relationship. It is an operational one.

Working with CCM on Complex WooCommerce Projects

Most WooCommerce stores sit within a predictable scope: a product catalogue, a payment gateway, and standard fulfilment logic. SILK operates several layers above that. Every order triggers a downstream clinic workflow. Every product reflects a live configuration in the booking platform. Every promotional campaign concentrates traffic in a way that the store has to absorb without the checkout degrading.

Managing a WooCommerce store at this level requires more than development capability. It requires people who understand the full stack, from database performance and third-party API integrations to eCommerce SEO, paid media, and the day-to-day operational reality of a live, revenue-generating platform.

As a Google Premier Partner and one of Australia’s most experienced eCommerce development agencies, CCM brings all of that under one roof. And has done so continuously for over a decade.
